It includes a Satin-Chromed grille, a liftgate beauty bar, door handles, and roof-mounted side rails when equipped. Matching side-view mirrors with Satin-Chromed skullcaps are also available. LS and 1LT models are powered by a standard 2.2L DOHC ECOTEC engine that puts out 143 hp at 5,600 rpm and 150 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine features an aluminum block and cylinder head with a lightweight composite intake manifold and electronic throttle control. The low-maintenance engine uses long-life coolant, designed to last for five years or 150,000 miles, and long-life spark plugs, designed to last for 100,000 miles. The engine delivers excellent fuel economy an EPA estimated 22 MPG city, 30 highway with a driving range of up to 450 miles. Standard on all HHR models is a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. It provides five synchronized forward gears and a synchronized reverse gear to help prevent grinding of the gears if reverse is engaged before the vehicle is at a complete stop. The gearbox also employs a hydraulic clutch, which is designed to be efficient and reliable. A factory-installed remote vehicle starter system is included when you order the available four-speed automatic transmission. The system can be used to warm up or cool down your vehicle on cold or hot days. To activate remote start, just press a button on your key fob. It is effective from up to 200 feet away. You also have the option of disabling remote start via input into the Driver Information Center. All HHR sound options include an auxiliary audio input jack to plug in your iPod or other MP3 player. The HHR 1LT Adds: LT models offer available leather seating surfaces with heated front seats. These supportive front-row seats sit high to provide a commanding view of the road. The HHR 2LT Adds: The Bright Chrome Exterior Appearance Package on HHR provides a distinctive custom-shop look. It includes a Bright Chromed grille, a liftgate beauty bar, door handles, and roof-mounted side rails when equipped. Matching side-view mirrors with Bright Chromed skullcaps are also available. Standard on 2LT and available on 1LT is a 2.4L DOHC ECOTEC engine with variable valve timing that produces 172 hp at 6,000 rpm and 162 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. The engine features an aluminum block and cylinder head with a lightweight composite intake manifold plus electronic throttle control. The low-maintenance engine uses long-life coolant, designed to last for five years or 150,000 miles, and long-life spark plugs, designed to last for 100,000 miles. The tuned sport suspension, standard and available only on 2LT, includes variable-rate springs and gas-charged shocks with a 22mm stabilizer bar. For those who crave premium sound, HHR offers an available seven-speaker Pioneer sound system with a rear subwoofer and 260-watt amplifier.(1) The system can be coupled with an AM/FM stereo with CD/MP3 player, auxiliary audio input jack, and a Radio Data System (RDS)(2) that provides station format information. An in-dash six-disc CD changer is also available on select models.
